Exploring Future Career Paths
Student Event - At our Section’s first meeting on the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering’s Brooklyn campus, a diverse panel of young chemical engineers will discuss what led them to their current positions. The panelists will also offer their advice on your future moves, such as which direction your career should go - advanced engineering education, or other options such as law school, biomedical, or other paths, as well as the importance of the Professional Engineer credentials and continuing education during your career.





Panelist
: Bianca White, Project Engineer at Con Edison, Inc.

Bianca White has worked at Con Edison for the past two years. She recently joined Central Engineering as a Project Engineer. She direct projects within the Central Operations organizations of Steam Operations, Substation Operations and System & Transmission Operations, on behalf of Central Engineering. This includes the responsibility for providing oversight and leadership for implementation of the project, and providing periodic project progress and financial reports to the appropriate company executives.

Prior to Project Engineering, Bianca was the Chemical Results Supervisor at Con Edison’s 59th Street Steam Generating Station in Manhattan, where she supervised the Chemical Group (who are responsible for monitoring boiler chemistry and efficiency).

She has over seven years of plant operations experience in food manufacturing. She has held leadership positions at a soybean refinery, as well as at a corn processing and salt facility. In addition, she was a part of a biofuel-based polyurethane plant start-up team in Chicago, IL.

Bianca has also earned the role of Process Safety Management Coordinator. Ms. White holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
