Bio: Dr. Gavin A. Schmidt, Climate Scientist, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and also with the Paleoclimate Group at the Center for Climate Systems Research, Columbia University.
Session 1 - Climate Drivers and Climate Impacts Abstract
Dr. Gavin A. Schmidt is a climate scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City.
He has been a frequent contributor to public communication on the issue of climate, working with, among others, the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Museum of Natural History on education and outreach.
He is the co-author of "Climate Change: Picturing the Science" (publisher: W. W. Norton, 2009) with photographer Josh Wolfe, and contributes to the RealClimate.org blog. He was awarded the inaugural AGU (American Geophysical Union) Climate Communication Prize in 2011.
